Would You Want an Engagement Ring With Your Birthstone? Here Are 12--One for Each Month! Which Would You Wear?
I love a diamond engagement ring as much as the next girl, but diamonds don't have a ton of meaning for most girls. (Unless they mean, "Someone spent a lot of money on this ring!")
Would you prefer an engagement ring that's a little more "you"?
The 12 rings below each feature a birthstone. Since some months have multiple birthstones (based on traditional and modern jewelers—and even the Gregorian calendar!) I opted to work from a pamphlet circulated by Tiffany & Co. in 1870, which gives each month just one birthstone. (Even though my birth month, March, kind of gets the shaft, with bloodstone.)
Here are my month-by-month picks:

Would you want an engagement ring with your birthstone? What about your guy's birthstone?
I'm feeling pretty "blech" about bloodstone. But I did see some awesome aquamarine options! (I consider aquamarine my birthstone, but I had to play fair!)
