“Utterly DISRESPECTFUL”: Colin Cowherd is baffled to see Matthew Stafford in tier-2 QB list, even below Justin Herbert

Matthew Stafford is a name to reckon with in the world of the NFL. The star quarterback guided his team, the Los Angeles Rams to a Super Bowl title this year. Although he wasn’t having the best of games on the night of the finale, the Rams still managed to pull off an emphatic win.

Throughout the season, Stafford played a major role in guiding his side to important wins. He ended up setting a franchise record with 4,886 yards passing during the regular season. Moreover, he registered impressive numbers in the playoffs as well. He ended up passing for 1,188 yards and nine touchdowns with just three interceptions in the playoffs.

However, despite doing all that he could to help his team achieve the ultimate glory, it seems like a lot coaches and executives still opine that he is a second tier quarterback at best. In Mike Sando’s annual article where he pulls in 50 executives and coaches from the league to put QBs in specific tier, Super Bowl champion Matthew Stafford’s name featured in tier two.

Needless to say, reactions started pouring in from different corners as soon as Stafford’s name was omitted from tier-1. NFL expert Colin Cowherd also had his say on the topic. “Matt Stafford, he didn’t make tier-1. He beat Joe Burrow in the Super Bowl, outplayed him, Burrow is 27 on the ProFootballFocus list and he is in Tier-1.

Brady, who he outplayed is in tier-1, in fact Justin Herbert who plays in the same stadium as Stafford and could not make the playoffs, he made tier-1, Stafford’s nowhere to be found.” Colin further claimed that despite the fact that Matthew led his side in come from behind victories against Brady and Burrow in playoffs, he is not in ProFootballFocus top 50 players and neither he is in the tier-1 QB list.

Colin further stated that when Matthew reads he is tier-2, below Justin Herbert, he is bound to feel disrespected. It will be interesting to see if Stafford is able to repeat the heroics of the last season.
