Triangle Strategy Release Time in US, UK, Australia & New Zealand
Here are the release date and time for Triangle Strategy on the Nintendo Switch eShops in the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand.
What is Triangle Strategy?
Triangle Strategy is a brand new tactical RPG published by Square Enix. The game focuses on story, geopolitics, and choices made by the player, with very few battles playable in the Prologue Demo currently available on the eShop.
Triangle Strategy features three different nations sharing a fragile peace on the continent of Norzelia. The player’s choices as they control Serenoa Wolffort, the leader of one of the three nations, will determine their destinations and alliances in what seems to be an inevitable new war.
For its battles, Triangle Strategy uses tactical RPG systems similar to those found in Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Super Robot Taisen Gaiden Masoukishin: The Lord of the Elemental. There are gameplay elements common to these three games which are also present in Triangle Strategy: the fact that terrain elevation and direction play a big role in the gameplay. Characters are much more vulnerable when being targeted from a higher position, in their flanks, and in their backs.
Who is the developer of Triangle Strategy?
While you’ll often read “Triangle Strategy is the new game by the developers of Octopath Traveler“, both games are actually made by different teams. The only things they have in common are the HD-2D graphics and Square Enix producer Tomoya Asano.
Octopath Traveler is developed by Acquire, who worked on Tenchu, Way of the Samurai, What Did I do To Deserve This, My Lord? Akiba’s Trip, and Katana Kami: A Way of the Samurai Story. Acquire is already working on an Octopath Traveler console sequel, and the mobile game Champions of the Continent is also getting an English release later in 2022.
Meanwhile, Triangle Strategy is developed by Artdink, who worked on the SNES to PS1 port of Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, and the railway company and city simulation series A-Train, with the latest entry, A-Train: All Aboard! Tourism, available on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
