Can't resist commenting on this weeks TRACKSIDE...

As a Onetime "South Dakotan" or Yote, having lived and worked in Aberdeen...(KELO-TV) And Dakota Dunes (KMEG-TV) gotta go with MY FAVORITE RR: D.M.&E. too. That line is truly in GODS COUNTRY... AS HE/SHE'S the only one who lives out theah. I'll date myself by saying: can 'member the bad ol' days when DM&E's ugly, faded, clapped out ex, CNW SD9's trundeled up to Aberdeen to service the elevators along the line... And watched with pride as the New/Olde SD-40's in BLUE & YALLER started arriving... back in my kelo days. OH & FYI: didja know they tagged every locomotive with a CITY OF: COOL. Hope CP takes it's time repainting/getting rid of DM&E, IC&E units. OH AND: NICE SHOT, too. Coulda voted for the "curves on the sign but..."
