Texas mom confesses to killing daughters, 6 and 1, in chilling 911 call
A Texas mother who called 911 from a suburban Dallas police department to admit she had killed her two young daughters has been charged with two counts of capital murder, police said Tuesday.
Madison McDonald, 30, told Irving police officers she had 'sedated and smothered' her children Archer Hammond, 6, and one-year-old Lillian Mae McDonald.
Police said McDonald walked into the Irving Police Department at about 10pm Monday and used the phone in their lobby to call 911.
She told dispatch officers that she had 'sedated' Archer and Lillian before tucking them into bed and smothering them to death.
When officers arrived in the police lobby, McDonald began 'talking about her how her kids were abused and that she would do anything to protect her children - including "eliminating them''', according to a police affidavit.

ShareOfficers then went to the Anthem Apartments where McDonald lives and found both girls dead in separate bedrooms.
McDonald was then arrested and charged with the murder of her two daughters.
Irving police spokesman Officer Robert Reeves said that McDonald believed she killed the girls by smothering, but the medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death.
He added that McDonald's demeanor was 'calm' when officers approached her at the police station lobby.

Reeves said they were still trying to determine what led to McDonald killing her children.
'We might not ever know the why because there's not going to be a definition or a reason that would ever justify the murder of two small children,' Reeves said.
McDonald was being held in Irving jail on no bond. Jail records do not list an attorney for McDonald who could comment on the allegations.
Reeves said police had been to McDonald's apartment previously but that he could not give details due to the nature of the calls 'and the privacy that's required by those.'

He said: 'I have no words. Thank you guys for reaching out. I don't know how to process this, or if it's possible to do so.
'If I didn't respond please don't take it personally it is appreciated I just don't know what can be said. She was such a sweet girl and brought so much light to everyone she met.'
Lilian's father Chris McDonald posted a picture of the toddler saying: 'Daddy loves you forever my sweetheart Lillian'.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to pay tribute to one-year-old Lillian and help her father Chris pay for her funeral expenses.
The post read: 'If you are friends with Chris you know that his daughters are the light of his life. Lilian was his youngest daughter and she just adored her daddy.
'When Chris walked into the room you could see the light and love he had for Lilian. Every interaction Lillian was smiling, laughing, and playing with her daddy.'
