Seen It All achievement in Spelunky 2

Full Journal. Wow, we've come a long way. Okay so here is how I'm going to make this guide. I'm going to drop a link that takes you to every single entry in the game so you can compare your journal to that and then I'm going to go through and talk about all of the entries that are not 100% obvious (I'm not going over how to unlock the spider from dwelling) OR do not have already have a guide written for them in another achievement.

If you've been following the other guides and have completed most of the other achievements, this guide should fill in the blanks for the stuff that you are missing.

^^ Link to all journal entries.

Unlock Seeds
The easiest way to do a lot of these is with a seed. A seed is a fixed level configuration that you can play again and again with all of the same factors including what is in the shops, to what is found in crates, and even the Ushabati will always be the same. While most achievements restrict you from using seeds, ALL journal entries can be unlocked with seeds. To unlock seeds, you need to have a total of 16 characters unlocked, this includes the 4 default characters. There are 20 characters so this gives you a buffer of 4 characters. I will say, I did not get seeds unlocked when I ran through the game, even after unlocking all 20 characters, so hopefully it is patched and fixed, but fair warning. I was also playing the game in a very strange, and not normal way, so, who knows. If you've ran through the other achievements, you should easily have 18 or 19 characters but in case you missed some, here is a link to all characters and how to unlock them, in order. The only one you would not normally come across when getting the other achievements is The Pilot in the UFO ship (explained later in this guide) and maybe Dirk Yamaoka who is found in Sunken City inside of a Goliath Frog. The Goliath Frog is the giant frog that is in the wall and spits out other frogs. Throw some bombs to kill him and his mouth will be agape. Walk in his mouth and look around until you find the coffin. Also Tina Flan can easy to miss, she is deep underwater in Abzu. You cannot unlock characters in seeded runs including Daily Challenges.

The best seed we have in my opinion is 9F30189E. This seed may not last forever. Every time there is a patch, there is a risk that all seeds get changed so if this seed doesn't work for you, leave me a comment below and hopefully we can find a good seed. With this one right now, you get a jetpack on 1-2. There is an altar on 1-2 and 1-3, 2-2, 4-1, and 5-1. Guaranteed Eggplant Child. Ushabati is Smiling Wood Snake, very close by the door.

Places

14. Eggplant World - The only place that is not mentioned in a guide is Eggplant World. This is also by far the hardest journal entry to unlock. If you're missing another place entry, it's probably Duat, go check out my Tablet of Destiny guide for more information on Duat. To get to Eggplant World, you must awaken the Eggplant Child, and bring him all the way to 7-1. Use the seed mentioned above and get to 5-1. Here there is a present for sale at the top and a kali altar at the bottom. Buy the present, take it down, sacrifice it, take the eggplant back up to the top. Place a bomb where the pet was and walk through to sacrifice the egegplant on the grey altar. Walk in to awaken the Eggplant Child and then leave to the next level. The Neo Babylon levels are hard, I'm not going to sugarcoat it. I wish we had a seed that was easier but this is all we have for now. Take your time, use TONS of bombs to blow up the electric balls, put the Eggplant Child to sleep as soon as every level starts. He will sleep for two minutes straight before waking up but you can continue to pick him up and put him back down to reset the timer. Grab the Ushabati mentioned above and use it to get to Sunken City, all the while putting that Eggplant Child to sleep again and again to make sure he doesn't kill himself. Once in Sunken City, you're so close, but you absolutely need to make sure this dumb child does not stay in a regen block and delete himself. Also *gestures broadly* all the other incredibly deadly things that exist in Sunken City. Luckily, you don't have to go far. Take the Eggplant Child and place him on the lap of the statue that looks like his mother (it is, this quest is a metaphor for raising a child, congrats). You can tell its her because of her massive cleavage. Next to her a door should open. Walk inside and you have reached eggplant world. Eggplant World is the safest area in the whole game, nothing wants to kill you, nothing wants to hurt you, nothing can be aggro-ed, no ghost can spawn. Technically there is a Ghist Shopkeeper here but I'm going to pretend you're not cursed. Kill one of the eggplups, kill one of the eggplant ministers, go whip the Eggplant King in the face, grab the crown he drops, pick up the 99 health he drops, you're good to go.

People
1-20 Unlockable Characters - As mentioned above, each playable character also has a journal entry. All characters are found throughout the game worlds except for Guy Spelunky who is unlocked after beating Tiamat and Classic Spelunky who is unlocked after beating Hundun.

30. Caveman Shopkeeper - Found randomly in backlayer of any normal level, so not including boss levels or special levels. He just a caveman selling cavemen things such as rock or arrow. Backlayer exploration is easiest in the Jungle so look for caves there until you find him.

31. Ghist Shopkeeper - The ghist shopkeeper is most easily found on 1-4 of Dwelling, directly underneath where the boss is. To enter the ghist shop, you first have to be cursed. You can do this on the 1-4 level but then you will have to deal with the ghost chasing you while you are trying to access the ghist shop. It is sometimes easier to get cursed on 1-3 and then proceed to 1-4 while also keeping in mind that being cursed makes the ghost spawn 30 seconds earlier than usual. To curse oneself early, you must be hit with a ghost pot. Find a ghost pot and carry it with you until you find a horned lizard. Stand all the way in the corner facing the horned lizard and let him roll into you. This will curse you without taking any more damage, as you'll be at one health. Once you get to 1-4 and are cursed, all you have to do is get the boss to roll around and destroy enough terrain to make the door visible or if you have enough bombs, you can bomb out the floor until you reach the door. It is pretty deep in the ground, usually directly in the center and a few blocks above where you spawn from the first shortcut. Find the door, walk inside. This should unlock the entry, if not, steal from him and die when he chases you.

36. Sparrow - Sparrow is an NPC that also comes with a quest. The easiest way to start this quest is to steal from a shop without hurting the shopkeeper in either 1-2 or 1-3. To do this, walk the item you want to steal over to the door and place it down. Then take an item you don't want to steal and put it in the corner of the shop, having the shopkeeper follow you to the corner. Now run over, grab the item by the door, and run out of there, making sure to jump right as you get past the opening so as to jump over any shotgun pellets. Now continue through the game until you get to 2-1 on either Volcana or Jungle. Somewhere in the level there will be a wooden cave entrance that will lead you to meet Sparrow. Continuing this quest will also get you the Tusk Idol, described below.

37. Beg - Beg is another NPC that comes with a fun quest. To meet Beg, you need to first blow up or damage a Kali Altar and then he will appear on the very next altar you see. Using the seed mentioned above is the easiest way to do this as there are tons of altars through the run. Use a bomb on the first altar in 1-2 and he will appear in 1-3 on the next altar you see, unlocking the journal entry. Continuing this quest will net you the True Crown, described below.

38. Eggplant King, described above in Eggplant World descript.

Beastiary
20. Lavamander - Possibly one of the hardest journal entries in the game, definitely one of the most annoying. There are two ways to unlock this. The first way is to get extremely lucky with a drill kill. When you drop the giant drill in Volcana, there is a small chance that a Lavamander happened to be standing right underneath it and died, granting you the journal entry. The second way is to kill it yourself. Lavamanders live in big pools of lava and can usually be first spotted as the top of the head goes back and forth under the lava. When you get close to the pool, he will pop his head up to say hello. The next time he says hello, he will spit TONS of LAVA at your FACE, instantly killing you if you're not ready for it. When he is in the lava, he cannot take any damage so what we have to do is drain the lava out from under him. Place bombs in some oppurtune spots in the corners of the pool and have the lava drain outwards. If you can create a hole for the lava to drain that he cannot get through, that's perfect. Either way, this is going to be messy and there is no perfect way to do it unless you get the perfect scenario which won't always happen. Try to have as many bombs and ropes as you can for manuverability. A Freezeray is also very clutch in this situation as shooting lava actually destroys it. Once enough lava has been drained away from the Lavamander, he will cool off and turn purple. He will also start jumping around desperately looking to find lava again so he can become invincible. Even when he is purple and vulnerable, he is still immune to damage from bombs, I don't know why. I try to steal bombs and a shotgun from shopkeepers on 4-1 or 4-2 when looking for these creatures so as to have the best opportunity to kill them. Once he turns purple, shoot him with the shotgun if you have one or jump on his head 10 times. He doesn't bleed so it looks like he's not taking damage, but the head bounces will kill him, even faster if you have spike shoes. Good luck with this guy. If anyone finds a Lavamander seed, let me know in the comments below, thanks.

30. Giant Humphead - Found in the water on 4-2, pretty hard to miss.

39-42. Enemies found in Duat, explained in the guide on the Tablet of Destiny.

48. Lahamu - Found in the Mothership on 5-1. The correct way to find the Mothership is to use the Alien Compass to have it point directly to the entrance which is at the very bottom of 5-1 but that takes forever so we're going to cheese it. Using the shortcut to 5-1, get down to the bottom of the level with hopefully taking no damage. If you don't want to go through the caves with the Yeti bosses, you can grab onto the tile beneath the cave entrance and drop directly below to grab on to another tile, it works every time if you grabbed onto the correct block. ->. Now at the bottom of the level, the door to the mothership is one of three places. It's either 5 tiles away from the left wall, 15 tiles from the left wall, or six tiles from the right wall. Left wall is easiest though. So go to the left wall and count 5 blocks over, place a rope down and fall straight down, you may have to jump off the rope to position yourself on the 5th block placement. If you picked the correct one, you'll land, maybe take some fall damage and if wrong, you'll fall to your death. Try again until you get the right entrance. Walk inside, bounce up and kill the giant alien looking thing in the center with two bombs before she locks on to you and shoots you. Also in the Mothership you'll want to kill one of the Proto Shopkeepers, the weird looking cronenberg things. On the left or right side wall you can also find a green pod holding someone inside. Break it open to unlock The Pilot. If you have defeated Lahamu, there is also a Plasma Cannon in the center area above where she died. That's four journal entries in one.

49. Proto Shopkeeper - Discussed right above this.

53. Tadpole - Little swimmer found in the water of Sunken City levels. Can also be found if you wait for a Goliath Frog to spit one out.

62. Celestial Jelly - The entity that guards the door in the Cosmic Ocean. Make sure to try and be killed by him when you get to there.

65. Queen Bee - Most easily found on the Jungle levels. Restart at the first shortcut again and again until you get a level that starts with "You hear an incessant buzzing...". Find the bee hive, find the entrance to it and try to lure the Queen Bee over to you. Once she is close by, drop bombs inside the hive and then quickly leave the bee hive. You can also just choose to be killed by her for the entry.

67. Golden Monkey - Sacrifice a Golden Idol on a Kali Altar in any level to get the Golden Monkey

69, 70, 71 - The three pets you can rescue. Go into the gameplay settings and make sure that all pet styles are turned on so that you can rescue each one for the journal entries.

72. Ghist - Different from a ghist shopkeeper (I think). They can be seen and interacted with if you are cursed and find a dead body (a body that was dead when the level loaded) BUT they can get a journal entry added if you take a picture of them, even if you can't see one. A guarenteed spot for one is on 4-2, in the bottom right, underwater, there is a cave entrance that leads to a dead body and there is a ghist there, but you can't see it. Kill the giant humphead and he will drop a camera. Take the camera into the cave and take a picture of the dead body for the journal entry.

78. Mech Rider - A rare mount (I think) that can found on either the Ice Caves or Neo-Babylon. If you see an one, kill the enemy inside and jump in for the entry.

Items
11. Alien Compass - Follow the Van Horsing questline, (more info on the Royal Headwear achievement) free him on 4-1, have him kill Vlad in Vlad's castle, and then after that you need to go to the Temple. On 4-1, you can find him in a room in the backlayer. He will be cursed and there he will give you the Alien Compass.

17. Eggplant Crown - Stated above.

18. The True Crown - After you meet Beg in a run (stated above), curse yourself (strat in Ghist Shopkeeper notes above), and then the next time you see a Kali Altar, Beg will be there again and this time he will give you the True Crown. You have to be cursed when you start the level, cursing yourself when you see an altar will not work. Have fun the True Crown, it's insane.

22. Royal Jelly- After you have the Kapala, the next points you get from sacrifices on the altar will net you a free royal jelly, healing you for six health. You can also get one from killing a Queen Bee.

40. Broken Sword - The Broken Sword is a useless item that you get from using the Clone Gun on Excalibur. To do this, get either the Royal Crown or the Hedjet, get to 4-2 Tide Pools, win the Star Challenge to get the Clone Gun, and then pull Excalibur out and clone it. Pick up the cloned sword for the entry.

41. Plasma Cannon - Stated above with the Mothership entries

48. The Tusk Idol - Right after you meet Sparrow in her quest line, kill her if you don't have a skeleton key on you and take the skeleton key that she drops. This can be done most easily by climbing back up the ladder and dropping some bombs down below. After that, proceed until you find Madame Tusk's Dice House in Tide Pools and use the skeleton you picked up to unlock the door above the bodyguard. Go inside and steal the Tusk Idol for a journal entry.

53. Elixir - This is the prize that you receive for finishing the Star Challenge in Temple. It gives you double healing and protects you from one instance of curse or poison. Very useful for Cosmic Ocean runs.

Traps
All traps should be found pretty naturally throughout your runs if you are fully exploring each world. The only two traps that are in temple are the two different type of crush blocks. All I'll say is make sure that you get every journal entry for all four of the traps that are in Sunken City so you don't have to go there more times than you have to.

That should just about cover it. If there are any more that you think should be on this list, let me know and I will consider adding them, thanks!
