A 22-year-old man with autism considered missing by the San Diego Police Department since Thursday night was found and reunited with his family, the department confirmed Friday afternoon.

In a tweet sent at around 3:55 p.m., SDPD said the man was found in Mexico and taken back to the U.S. to his family.

"Thank you to everyone who kept an eye out for him," SDPD's tweet read. "We would also like to thank the Mexican authorities for helping bring [him] home."
