Robot pastor conducts wedding in church, video trends
A viral video shows an artificial intelligence-powered chatbot named ChatGPT joining a white couple in holy matrimony.
Reece Alison Wiench and Deyton Truitt chose the robot as their officiant since Colorado law does not require a licenced marriage official to execute a wedding ceremony if both partners agree.

Truitt described their wedding day as “monumental,” adding that they were able to have this beautiful ceremony “by the grace of God.”
The bride’s father, Stephen Wiench, proposed utilising the chatbot because he thought it would be “easier and cheaper” than finding a human.
He said the bot was initially reluctant to take on the task, responding, “Sorry, I can’t do this. I don’t have eyes, I don’t have a body, I can’t show up and officiate your wedding.”
The families provided personal information to the robot, which used it to construct a customised ceremony script.

The wedding took place in a historic 100-person church that dates back to 1885, creating a contrast between the old and the new.
The couple invited 30 guests to their unique wedding and sent out an AI-generated statement informing them of their intention to have the chatbot officiate.
