Report: Circuit for Miami Grand Prix is “95 percent” complete

With May inching closer to us with every passing day, it is only a matter of a few weeks before the Miami Grand Prix kicks off in the Magic City at the Miami International Autodrome Circuit. When word had spread last year amongst the F1 fans community about the inclusion of a new track in the F1 2022 calendar, all of us were stoked to see where the Grand Prix might take place.

With Formula 1 trying hard to reach the American audience through programmes like Drive to Survive, it was a no-brainer that they would choose the Miami Grand Prix to be the latest track to host a Formula 1 race. Ever since the 10-year contract was signed last year, engineers and workers have been hard at work to make the Miami Grand Prix possible.

Richard Cregan, who previously managed the Abu Dhabi and Russian Grand Prix, became the CEO of the Miami Grand Prix last year. Under his aegis, the Miami GP team and the overseas consultants at the FIA headquarters in Paris have come together to construct a spectacular track for us to see.

“We’re in the final stages of this incredible circuit”: Miami Grand Prix CEO Richard Cregan looks happy with the work on the new F1 circuit

In an exciting, new report that dropped recently, the organizers of the Miami GP have revealed that almost “95 percent” work has been done on the new circuit. As time ticks down to the inauguration of this grand venue, F1 fans cannot wait to get a glimpse of it. Red Bull driver Sergio Perez took the job to do a few laps around the circuit to give his fans an exclusive look at what the Miami track looks like now.

While commenting on all the work and efforts that went into building the track, Miami GP CEO Richard Cregan said, “We’re in the final stages of this incredible circuit that will host the first-ever Formula 1 race in Miami.”

We are delighted with the progress we have made and it’s a huge credit to the hard work of the team here in Miami, in consultation with both Formula 1 and the FIA to get this circuit finished in a tight timeline.”

We have tried to create a track that drivers love to race on and a campus that offers unique, best-in-class fan experiences; and we can’t wait for the first weekend in May,” he further said.
