Pacers select UNC's Hansbrough | wthr.com

New York - The Indiana Pacers have selected North Carolina forward Tyler Hansbrough with the 13th pick in the NBA draft.

Hansbrough led North Carolina to the NCAA title this past season, and The Associated Press named him its national player of the year in 2008. The Atlantic Coast Conference's all-time leading scorer on Thursday became part of Indiana's rebuilding effort.

Hansbrough worked out for the Pacers in Indianapolis this month. Team president Larry Bird raved about Hansbrough this week, saying that people had picked on him, but "all he's ever done is won."
