OT- Fallout Shelters? Duck and Cover! - Trains Magazine

Somebosy here mentioned "Fallout Shelters" some train stations had them and most schools had them . Erie PA Union Station still has one in the sub sub basement that even has a ambulance under it...
The Catholic School I went to had them and we did go thru a anual drill (They told us it was for tornadoes)
Now to think that after seeing the movie the day after" that one could survive being vaporised by a Hydrogen Bomb with the tempurtures equaling that of the Sun by going down into your basement is ridiculas..
