A young man returns to Athens after serving time in jail. As his younger brother is killed by police forces, Abdel takes refuge in his old neighborhood in order to meet his brother's friends and relatives. He soon finds himself caught up between new friendships, old rivalries, and the demands of cultural traditions.

The film tells the story of Abdel (Dali Benssalah), who is called back from the front line and finds that his family has been broken by the death of his younger brother. It seems he died in suspicious circumstances after a fight with police. Determined to avenge his brother and with Moktar (Ouassini Embarek), his other brother, involved in illegal activities, Abdel finds himself having to manage growing tensions. This proves a real challenge which he only manages with great difficulty. However, things get worse as they find their community, Athena, is besieged by military trucks and soldiers, turning it into a veritable fortress where tragedy strikes their families and many others...
