Teams needing to put on strong shows meet in the first game of Week 8. The Buffalo Bills, who are struggling, meet the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are fading. Can’t believe the Bills are s bad as they have been playing, but this one feels like a good bounce-back game. Prediction: Bills 27, Bucs 12

This smells like a mismatch in the desert. Figure the Cardinals to hang around for a half and then misplay themselves into another loss. Prediction: Ravens 30, Cardinals 17

The Tyson Bagent machine marches into SoFi. This could be a game that Brandon Staley’s future depends on, big time. He can’t fall to 2-5 and feel comfortable in his job as coach. Prediction: Chargers 24, Bears 10

The Lions took the edge off their return to MNF in Week 8 by getting clobbered in Baltimore during Week 7. The Raiders are coming off being destroyed by the bad Bears. Expect Dan Campbell’s group to come out with a vengeance. Prediction: Lions 38, Raiders 16

This should have a huge reach of interest if you live in the Big Apple and nowhere else. It would be a fictitious rivalry at best with both teams mediocre. Prediction: Jets 17, Giants 14

Don’t expect another miracle out of Bill Belichick’s troops. Miami tends to feast on lesser opponents, and coming off the loss to Philly wants to rebound. Prediction: Dolphins 34, Patriots 17

The Vikings are showing signs of life. Kirk Cousins was huge on MNF. Jordan Addison looks like the real deal at WR. The Packers appear headed for an extremely high draft pick. Prediction: Vikings 28, Packers 23

Ah, the dreaded divisional revenge game. The Eagles squeaked by in Philly against the Commanders. Don’t be fooled, this one should be easier because Washington is struggling. Prediction: Eagles 23, Commanders 10

This one falls in the middle because there should be plenty of offense. The Colts can put points on the board, and if the Saints play the way they did in the fourth quarter against the Jaguars, it figures to be an exciting contest. Derek Carr vs. Gardner Minshew. Prediction: Colts 31, Saints 30

Will  Taylor Swift be in attendance? That’s the lone mystery to the AFC West matchup. Prediction: Chiefs 37,  Broncos 14

This matchup is way better than expected. The Browns have a ferocious defense and have quietly surprised in the AFC North with strong play. Geno Smith continues his renaissance and Seattle has a lot of talent on offense. A sneaky good game. Prediction: Browns 20, Seahawks 17

Star-struck franchises meet in a game that doesn’t have as much luster as one would think. However, you can’t dismiss the Rams and Cowboys when it comes to drawing eyeballs, especially America’s Team. Weird that this one is in the early window. Prediction: Cowboys 31, Rams 27

This is a stellar matchup between teams going in the same direction: forward. The Jaguars shook off their slow start and are on a roll. The Steelers seem to always find a way to win. They will need every trick they have to beat the AFC South leaders. Prediction: Steelers 27, Jaguars 20

At one point, this would have been thought of as a possible Super Bowl preview. Now, it is teams that both need the win. The Bengals want to keep up in the AFC North after watching the other three teams in the division win on their bye week. The Niners have lost two in a row and don’t want the bad habit to become a trifecta. Prediction: Bengals 28, 49ers 27
