New Movies 2023: 21 Films We Can't Wait to Watch Next Year

C'mon, new movies 2023! We need something to look forward to, and Hollywood escapism is at the top of our list. Next year promises a bunch of different titles, from the usual Marvel fare (Quantumania) to reboots (Little Mermaid) and resurrections (Indiana Jones, one of the best movie series, is back, as is John Wick, the franchise still walking the line between assassin flicks and spy movies). There's even the occasional experiment, like Cocaine Bear.

And while the internet argues about Mario's voice (literally—who cares?), we of taste and sophistication know that the real toy-to-screen masterpiece is going to be Barbie. I mean, Greta Gerwig already did great things with Little Women, and isn't the most iconic doll of all time…just a little woman?

The upcoming movies promise something for everyone, from those who love mystery movies to connoisseurs of horror films. Yes, we could still use more LGBTQ+ movies, but the best romantic films tend to come out at the end of the year anyway, so don't be too disappointed if they haven't been announced yet.
