Meet Lost Art's Jordan Betten, Designer Behind Victoria's Secret's Edgiest Angel Wings

"The energy is high, man," said designer Jordan Betten at the Victoria's Secret New York City headquarters, only days before the annual pomp and Swarovski-crystal-studded affair that is the Victoria's Secret Fashion show was to take place. "It's just, like, the greatest collaboration ever."

Now, the chances are that you've never heard of Betten, or perhaps his 18-year-old leather goods design house, Lost Art—but you definitely know his biggest fans. Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and scores of It Girls have been coming to Lost Art's West Chelsea store for years because, quite frankly, no one makes fits-like-a-glove leather pants quite like he does. The brand is known in fashion circles as the go-to for all things leather, exotic skin, and fur. Each and every piece is made by his own two hands, taking weeks (and sometimes months!) to create.

But after tonight, Betten's relative anonymity will go the way of the dodo bird, as millions will set their eyes on his leather angel wings, intricate chiffon and leather trousers, and embroidered leather shorts—all exclusively collaborated on with the lingerie giant for the show, airing tonight on CBS at 10 P.M. ET.

Betten worked closely with team VS on the capsule collection, hand embroidering white leather shorts worn by Romee Strijd and melding leather and delicate chiffon for Taylor Hill's incredible pants, stitch by stitch. Hill herself told us that she's obsessed with the one-of-a-kind trousers. "I love them," she mused. "I asked if I could bring them to Coachella. They're perfect!"
