“Makes my skin crawl,” Shannon Sharpe DENOUNCES Aaron Rodgers amidst the tussle between the Packers QB and Rob Gronkowski about playing for MVP honor instead of Championships
Aaron Rodgers is one of the most talented yet controversial players in the NFL. The Packers QB is known for winning regular season MVPs and his off-season trade dramas. In that trend, the 39-year-old QB has once again stirred the pot in the off-season by saying that he could win MVP once again under the right circumstances, a statement which is not received well by many former players including Rob Gronkowski and Shannon Sharpe.
Speaking in the Pat McAfee show on a recent episode, Aaron Rodgers said that he could win MVP again under the right circumstances either with the Packers or any other team. Former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski thrashed Rodgers for his statement asking him why he is thinking about individual awards instead of championships.
Rodgers didn’t like Gronkowski’s comments and called out the tight end for thrashing him. Speaking in a recent episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers said that every player in the league is playing to be recognized as the best of the best, and if anybody says they’re not playing for MVP honor, they’re either lying or non-competitive. “Anybody who said they don’t (want an MVP) is lying or non-competitive and either one of those, I don’t wanna be a part of,” Rodgers said.
Shannon Sharpe has heavy words for the Packers QB Aaron Rodgers
Amidst this back-and-forth altercation between two of the greatest football players to ever play the game, another football legend Shannon Sharpe joined Gronkowski in bashing the Green Bay quarterback.
Speaking on his show UNDISPUTED with with Skip Bayless, the former Denver Broncos tight end sounded off on the back-to-back MVP for thinking about individual awards instead of Super Bowl rings.
“Brah, you’ve been recognized as the best of the best four times. And three of those times, a lot of those times you look bad, you look downright awful. I guarantee you winning another MVP will not change the perception of you like a championship would,” said Sharpe. “Here’s a guy that has been back-to-back and had won four MVPs. Twice, back-to-back, and then another gap and back-to-back again. And what does he have to show for that in that timeframe? Nothing.”
“he talking about ‘Oh, I embraced the role of being the villain.’ People don’t think you’re a villain. People think you’re a backside hole because of the way you conduct yourself. That’s what people think… He just irks me. He just makes my skin crawl because he just selfish,” said Rodgers.
On the business side of things, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers would be concentrating on getting to a middle point in their situation and will be working to fill the holes in their team in the upcoming NFL off-season.
