Kelly Cutrone on Judging America's Next Top Model: "If I Keep Smacking Down, We Might Not Have Any Girls Left."

Glamour: Without giving too much away, what kind of girls can we expect to see in this cycle?

Kelly: They're really a mix. There are some girls that are just stunners, and you're just like, whoa that girl has got legs for days, she can kill it, she can do editorial. The prizes are really different [this season]—they have the CoverGirl contract, they also have a five-episode stint on Extra, and they also have a single they do for CBS Records and then they become the face of America's Next Top Model—so it's very varied, it's very multimedia and very branded. It's a modern model.

A few of the girls that stayed in the competition, I just couldn't believe. But that was the competitor in them. They were coming in there, they were totally annoying, and I was just like no no no no. This can't be happening. One of them, and I go on to say in the show, started haunting my sleep at night!

I started telling Tyra and Nigel—I was like, I think I should get paid more money, I didn't realize I'd be working on Saturday and Sunday when I wake up and I've dreamt of this girl and she's in my face going "Fandabbadozi" or whatever and I'm like you now we need to make this stop! And I told her at one point in the judging, I was like, "Seriously, I can't take it. You're like haunting my dreams. You need to make this stop." I was just like haunted by her. And I couldn't even believe that she was making it! And at one point she was slipping through every crack, it was like an amazing football player who just didn't deserve to be going past the hard lines. And I'd look and I'd be like "Oh my god, she's still here! No! How is she staying in it?"

Glamour: Was there ever a moment this season when you had to deliver a Kelly Cutrone smackdown on any of the girls?

Kelly: Episode 3 is a big smackdown moment with me. Which I really thought if I keep smacking down we might not have any girls left. I actually thought, what happens if they all go at once? What happens if this spreads like wildfire? But in episode three there's a big moment with me and a girl, and I just called her out right in the middle of judging and it was a big to-do. You know, I'm not there to be, like, "Hi, I really like your shoes." I'm there to be, like, "Are you serious? People might think this was a good photo shoot, but if this was a photo shoot for my client, I'd be fired. Because you're not a model. You look good in clothes but you can't move. You don't have eight different looks to give me. Pick up your foot and move it!" If you don't know what your body angles are and you don't know how to work a camera, don't f*cking be here."
