How about something fun?  I used to take students on a canoeing-camping trip on a river with rapids.  There were areas on the calmer parts of the rivers where "tanking" has become popular.

People pack a lunch, a cooler with adult drinks, and pile into a cow tank to slowly float down the rivers.  We even have people come from other states just to experiece something they don't often see elsewhere.  It started as a joke -- a way to poke fun at ourselves and our rural heritage, and it has become a fun thing to do.
