INDIANAPOLIS — The Shane Steichen era will begin at home in Lucas Oil Stadium.
Against the newly-minted AFC South favorites.
The NFL released its schedule Thursday night, and the Colts open the season at 1 p.m. in Lucas Oil Stadium against the Jacksonville Jaguars, beginning a trend of early-afternoon games for the entire season.
Indianapolis, coming off a disastrous 4-12-1 season, is initially scheduled to play just two games outside of the early-afternoon window: a Nov. 5 matchup against the Carolina Panthers and former Indianapolis head coach Frank Reich is scheduled to kick off at 4:05 p.m., and the following week, the Colts will kick off at 9:30 a.m. ET because they'll be playing the New England Patriots in Germany.
