While touching this poison is pretty dangerous for you as Tarnished, you can use it as a weapon against your enemies. Scarlet Rot can be used in various forms, but the Rotten Breath incantation is probably one of the best ways to use it!
How to Get the Rotten Breath Incantation in Elden Ring
Rotten Breath Incantation is a purchasable item, but you cannot buy it with Runes. Actually, you need to pay Dragon Heart for getting this incantation, and Dragon Heart can only be obtained by killing dragons, but don’t worry at all.
Hopefully, there is a giant dragon in Caelid that is so lazy that won’t attack you even if even you kill it. Killing this dragon not only gives you Dragon Heart but also rewards you with 80,000 Runes.
Head to the location marked below and rest at the Fort Faroth Site of Grace. Now, head west from the Site of Grace a little bit until you see a huge feather-covered tail on the ground. Start hitting it with your weapon and you will spot a health bar spawns on the screen. This is the health bar of the dragon. It won’t attack you. So, take your time and hit the dragon’s tail until you kill it and get the Dragon Heart. Now go to a Site of Grace and spend the Runes to level up your character as the dragon you killed will never spawn again.
Now take the Dragon Heart to the Cathedral of Dragon Communion. On your way, you will encounter a dragon boss that you ignore and run past it to the Cathedral. Keep in mind that the entrance of the Cathedral is guarded by a high-level knight. We suggest you enter the cathedral from behind.
Inside the cathedral, you will find a flaming statue as shown in the image below. Interact with it to purchase the Rotten Breath incantation.
In order to use this incantation, you will need to have 15 Faith and 12 Arcane.
