How to Get Away With Murder Season 1, Episode 3 Recap

The next morning, Amanda Tanner lets them know there is a new client. It's Griffin. He's tells his story to the crew. Says Rebecca was a drug dealer and Lila's friend. One night, he got high and hooked up with Rebecca and Lila walked in (ruh roh), which would be bad enough if Griffin and Lila hadn't made a vow to be virgins until marriage (ruh roh times infinity). He says that Lila lost her mind and scratched him, which is how his DNA ended up under her fingernails, and then left. Rebecca was just there smiling because she had set the whole thing up. DAMN! She had texted Lila from his phone while they were hooking up saying that he needed to see her, so Lila would walk in on them. He believes Rebecca killed Lila.

Drake heads home, makes a fake ID, then returns to the police station. He sits in an interrogation room, and a cop brings Rebecca in. He wants to know what's on the phone, and she yells for the guard and blows his cover. As the cops take him out of the room, he yells that Griffin is going to pin Lila's death on her, and she's standing there looking stupid. What. An. Idiot.

That night, there is a law party at a bar. Connor is with Michaela, and Aiden and goes, "There was a time when I thought I would be wearing Aiden's ring." Aiden gets bashful and Connor says, "You never told her." Uh-oh. Connor says they were 16 and locked away at boarding school. Cue record scratch because nobody wants to have to work side-by-side with someone who sexed on their soon-to-be-husband. Awkward!

The next day, Anna arrives at the police station. She chews Drake out for not telling her that Rebecca was his next-door neighbor. He says that Griffin is not a good guy and that Anna should be defending Rebecca instead. Anna doesn't budge and tells him they have to get to court for Elena's case. And at court, Connor is rubbing it in Michaela's face that he hooked up with her fiancé. Then the prosecution calls Gabriel! Of course, Gabriel says that it was Elena's idea to plant the bomb, and I want to hide underneath Annalise's wig. Everything has gone to s**t, y'all!

Anna questions him and he said that initially he would've said anything to protect her, but then he comes to his senses and decides to tell the truth. Anna grills him, and he says he was promised early release by the prosecution if he said the bomb was Elena's idea. The judge then gives Anna's crew three hours to build a new defense.

Michaela finds out that Gabriel got six phone calls from a woman named from Jane Santura. Santura is Paula/Elena's mother's maiden name. Then we learn that Elena has gone all Michael Jackson from the "Remember the Time" video and disappeared:

The trial resumes and Elena is still nowhere to be found. The case is put on permanent hold, and a warrant is out for her arrest. We see Elena in a disguise get on a bus and sit next to her boo, Gabriel. Damn, poor Kevin. He has to raise their babies by himself, while Gabriel and Elena are going to have sex at someone's quinceañera (probably). #SomebodyPassTheFlan
