How to Catch Dedenne in Pokemon GO & Can it Be Shiny?

It’s an exciting time in Pokemon GO as once again, a new Pokemon is about to make its in-game debut.

This time out, joining the likes of Trevenant and Pumpkaboo that recently did the same, is Pokemon X & Y’s Dedenne.

The Fairy and Electric-type Pokemon joins the game as part of the brand new event celebrating the Festival of Lights around the globe.

To help you get ahead of the curve, here are all the ways you can find and catch a Dedenne in Pokemon GO and whether or not it can be shiny.

Can Dedenne be Shiny In Pokemon GO?

Unfortunately, as is the case with most new Pokemon, including the aforementioned Trevenant and Pumpkaboo, Dedenne won’t be available in its shiny form.

It’s likely that Niantic will use this as an opportunity to excite players further down the line.

As you can see from the tweet below, Dedenne’s shiny form is vastly different to its regular form as it changes from yellow and cream to brown and yellow.

How to Find and Catch Dedenne in Pokemon GO’s Festival of Lights Event

As this is the first time Dedenne will be available, players will likely be aiming to get their hands on one as soon as possible. There are a couple of ways to do this as part of the event.

During its debut period, Dedenne will be available in the wild, as part of one-star raid battles and as a Field Research Task Encounter. It should be noted though that as part of the Field Research, Niantic states that “If you’re lucky, you might encounter the following [Dedenne].”
