How did Sutton Stracke's father die? 'RHOBH' star shares mental health post as she copes 'harbored emotions'

BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: The 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Sutton Stracke's father John T. Brown died from suicide 21 years ago. John took his life after struggling with "depression."

In one of the episodes of the show, Sutton confessed, "My dad was mentally ill." The Sun reports her saying, "He was depressed and it’s so silly because he died 18 years ago but not a day goes by that I’m not thinking about him."

Remembering her father's death, Sutton took to Instagram on Saturday to reflect light on mental illness. She uploaded a list of "self care activities" to carry this Holiday season to help people struggling with mental health issues.

The list includes, "know and respect your limits," "set reasonable expectations," "avoid known triggers," "find ways to give back," "be extra giving to yourself," and "decorate for comfort."

Sutton then uploaded a picture with her father and captioned the post, "Today my sweet father took his own life 21 years ago."

Thanking Nami, she added, "@namicommunicate has helped me understand and cope with harbored emotions surrounding suicide and being left a victim."

She then asks her followers, "Please read and share. The holidays have the highest suicidal rates of the year. May we all stay safe in love and peace this holiday season."

'RHOBH' star Sutton Stracke apologizes to co-star after making 'insensitive' comments

In one of the episodes of 'RHOBH,' Sutton compared Asian stereotyping to being called a redneck. After her co-star Crystal Minkoff accused her of making "insensitive" comments, Sutton took to social media to apologize publicly.

She took to Twitter to claim, "Despite Crystal and my strained relationship at the time, it was disrespectful to interrupt her and not listen to express her truth."

She then talked about becoming a better listener and understanding people's "painful realities," experiences, especially by people of color.

How many siblings does 'RHOBH' star Sutton Stracke have?

As per Sutton's social media, she has a brother and a sister. She recently uploaded a picture with her sister, saying, "My #virgo sister. Words don’t describe how much I love her. Happy Birthday Miss Tilly."

Moreover, on the occasion of her brother's birthday, Sutton wrote, "Wishing my brother the happiest of birthdays today. Not only a great brother, but an amazing father and husband. (Not to mention grill master)."

It seems Sutton is pretty close to her family.
