Guide for Rise of the Tomb Raider - DLC

Lara's Nightmare

Go to "Expeditions" on the main menu and then set the game to:

• Mode:Lara's Nightmare
• Action: New Game
• Difficulty: Adventurer
  • You can set it to a harder difficulty, but there are no difficulty or score related achievements.

These achievements are not tied to challenges, so feel free to choose any challenges.

The cards you will want are:

• [Bow Name] Bow V
  • Grants fully upgraded [Bow Name] Bow
  • "Bow Master" and "Bow Mastery" are alternatives
• Tomb Raider
  
  • Grants all Brawler, Hunter, Survivor and Codex skills
  • "[Outfit Name]: Master" and "Expert III" are alternatives without the codex skills
    • "Warrior III", "[Outfit Name]: Hunter', "Hunter III" grant you level 3 Hunter skills, but lack other skill trees and codex skills
• Eagle Eye
  • Nearby enemies and animals glow through obstacles when Survival instinct is activated
• Toxicity
  • Grants unlimited Poison Arrows

You have 2 objectives during the run: kill the Skulls of Rage and find the master key (so that you can get to a Skull of Rage and kill it). Everything is randomly found in the manor.

Once you find and kill a Skull of Rage, you will unlock:

Find and kill 2 more Skulls of Rage and the Nightmare will spawn in the center. After taking some damage, he will spawn enemies and shield himself. Once the enemies are killed, damage him and rinse and repeat until he is killed and unlock:

If you haven't killed 100 enemies yet, load another game up and focus on that until you unlock:

Blood Ties

Note: No video is provided as the manor is nowhere near as open as the campaign's map and actually very linear. If you would like a video walkthrough, feel free to post in the walkthrough forum. If I see enough people want a video here, I'll make one ASAP.

Go to "Croft Manor" on the main menu and then start a new game:

You'll get a small cutscene where Atlas is trying to get the manor from Lara. The letter Lara is holding is NOTICE SERVED (DOCUMENT 1/40) (Not pictured). Lara wants a will from her dad to inherit the manor, but the safe, where she believes the will is located, is locked.

On the desk near the safe is PHOTO OF LARA WEARING AN EGYPTIAN CROWN (RELIC 1/54) and FIRST IMPRESSIONS (DOCUMENT 2/40). Behind the desk, on a small table is LORD CROFT'S DIPLOMA (RELIC 2/54).

Note: While some relics do have hidden information, like those in the campaign, they do not provide any benefits, such as XP, with the exception of a few required for a puzzle. Therefore, they will not be included in the this section of the walkthrough.

On the desk with a flickering light and spiderweb is ANCIENT MAP OF NORTHERN SYRIA (RELIC 3/54). Look in the cabinets to the right of the desk with the spiderweb to find TRUTH BEHIND MYTH (RELIC 4/54). In the table in the middle with two cups is NEXT STEPS (DOCUMENT 3/40).

Across the room of the desk with the spiderweb, BENJAMIN CROFT STATUE BUST (RELIC 5/54) is in front of the window. To the right of the bust is PHOTO OF LARA, RICHARD, AND ANA (RELIC 6/54). To the left of the bust is a cabinet containing AFRICAN MASK (RELIC 7/54).

Go out into the hallway and try the door to the library on your left.

Secrets of the Past - Find an alternate route to the Library

It's locked, so Lara has to find an alternate path. In the same hallway, EXPEDITION MAP - 1 OF 2 (RELIC 8/54) is on a stack of boxes to your right.

EGYPTIAN ANKH (RELIC 9/54) is in a case to your left. On the right is a secret passage. Open it.

Secrets of the Past - Find a flashlight to light the way into the Servants' Passages

You're going to need a flashlight for the Servants' Passages, so go ahead through the doors ahead.

To the left on a chair near the fireplace is ASKING ABOUT MOM (DOCUMENT 4/40). On the table with the laptop is CLEARANCE (DOCUMENT 5/40). To the back right is SIR LANCELOT (MURAL 1/2).

Go through the next set of door and you'll end up in the Grand Hall. Go to the left and open the cabinet containing PHOENIX FIGURINE (RELIC 10/54). Continue going forward and then take a right where you'll see a boarded up section with "Danger" signs over the boards. ANA'S CIGARETTE CASE (RELIC 11/54) is on the window sill to the left.

Nearby is a chest that cannot be opened. Follow the path to its right until you get a memory of Lord Croft telling Lara that she can't go into the West Wing (it's not a cutscene, just some dialogue). You can't access it yet, so go down the stairs to the lower section of the Grand Hall.

Once at the bottom, go to the right and into a small dead end with UNKNOWN STATUE BUST (RELIC 12/54). Back in the middle, A LIFE OF POSSIBILITIES (DOCUMENT 6/40) is on a table in front of the fireplace. A small memory will also start where Lara and Winston, a butler, will talk about the compass on the floor.

Southeast of the compass, A SUBTLE THREAT (DOCUMENT 7/40) is on a window sill and OUROBOROUS AMULET (RELIC 13/54) is across from it in a case. To the south of the compass is A MESSAGE TO JONAH (DOCUMENT 8/40) and FLASHLIGHT (RELIC 14/54).

Secrets of the Past - Access the Servants' Passage

Go back to the Servants' Passage and enter it.

Secrets of the Past - Use the Servants' Passage to reach the Library

Immediately look to your left to find A BROTHER'S WARNING (DOCUMENT 9/40). Go down the stairs and collect TRAVELS TOGETHER (DOCUMENT 10/40) on the table. There's a door to the right of the document that you can't open. Instead, go to the left of the document and down these set of stairs. At the bottom of these stairs is A BROTHER'S PLEA (DOCUMENT 11/40) on a box before entering a wine cellar.

Enter the wine cellar and go to the very end of the hallway and collect LITTLE ANGEL (DOCUMENT 12/40). Go back to the middle where you can push a wine cart out of the way. Enter the newly-made entrance and go to the left. Collect OLD CHESSBOARD (RELIC 15/54) on the table and enjoy a memory of Lara and Winston playing chess.

There is a brick pillar in front of the newly-made entrance. On a crate to the right of a brick pillar is DECISIONS (DOCUMENT 13/40). Continue down the right path and take a left in the fork in the road. You'll have to move some more wine carts. In the middle of the fork in the road is BIRTHDAY EXPEDITION (DOCUMENT 14/40). With the wine carts out of the way, take the right path in the fork.

Once you get pass the metal gate, CROFT DECANTER (RELIC 16/54) will be on your left. Enter the Basement of Despair and get a memory of Lord Croft and Lara on her birthday expedition. When you get to a fork in the road, keep going straight and when you get to a second fork, go right. MUMMY BEAR (RELIC 17/54) will be on a crate surrounded by water with an infinity sign near it. Go back to the second fork and take the other path. Yet another fork will present itself, but take the path that has TRAP MECHANISM (RELIC 18/54) in the middle of a rope. Continue moving forward until you reach the next prompt.

Secrets of the Past - Use the Servants' Passages to reach the Library

Make your way through some crates. There's a locker to the left, but it requires a crowbar. Instead, climb the ladder near it. At the top of it is RENOVATION PLANS (RELIC 19/54) and CRACKS IN THE FOUNDATION (DOCUMENT 15/40). To the right of document 15 is a hidden entrance to the library.

To the left of the entrance, on a table is INVISIBLE INK (DOCUMENT 16/40). CLUES (DOCUMENT 17/40) is on stacked boxes in front of the desk which contains clues the code:

• Lara's expedition treasure
• My (Lord Croft) favorite painting by Amelia (Lara's mother)
• The day of our wedding anniversary

Secrets of the Past - Search the Library for remaining combination clues: 0/2

An OLD LIGHTER (RELIC 20/54) is below the document. DISCOVERIES (DOCUMENT 18/40) is on the desk and LARA'S CHILDHOOD DRAWING (RELIC 21/54) is behind the desk near a stuffed dinosaur. Go to the far left of the room (the side with the window and couches) and collect NOTE FROM WINSTON (RELIC 22/54) near the couch and HIEROGLYPHICS WORKSHEET (RELIC 23/54) across from it.

You'll get another memory of Lara helping Lord Croft. Make sure to collect EGYPTIAN HIEROGLYPHICS (RELIC 24/54) underneath relic 23.

Turn to your left and climb the ladder. Collect PHOTOGRAPH OF THE LIBRARY (RELIC 25/54) at the top. Climb down, go to the right side of the library, and collect THE JOURNEY (DOCUMENT 19/40) on a cart. SIR REGINALD (MURAL 2/2) is to the rightmost of the room.

Move the ladder that's right of the desk, climb it, move the cart with the boxes on them, climb down, move the ladder back, and then climb it again. Move along the path until you reach EXPEDITION MAP - 2 OF 2 (RELIC 26/54) on a chest. Collect it.

Secrets of the Past - Find a heat source large enough to revel the map

Climb back down the ladder, light the fireplace across from the desk, reveal the map (this will give you EXPEDITION MAP - 2 OF 2 (REVEALED) (RELIC 27/54) automatically) and unlock:

Turn around and collect the MASTER KEY (RELIC 28/54) from under the desk by the bookcase and unlock:

Open the door at the bottom right of the library, near Sir Reginald.

STORMS PASS (DOCUMENT 20/40) is on a cart in front of the door. This will unlock:

Open the door to the left that leads to the Grand Hall and then go back to the library.

Climb up the movable ladder, open the chest that relic 26 was on, and collect EGYPTIAN CROWN (RELIC 29/54).

Exit through the nearby door.

Now go back to the Grand Hall and open the chest that you couldn't before (near relic 11) to collect CROFT FAMILY CREST (RELIC 30/54) (Not pictured). Enter the West Wing.

Take the path to the right and collect CONCERN (DOCUMENT 21/40) in the hallway to the right of the door. Then open the door that leads to Lara's Mother's atelier (which basically a workshop/studio).

Now enter the door and collect GAMES WE PLAYED (DOCUMENT 22/40) to your immediate left.

Look to your right to find PICTURE OF AMELIA AD LARA PAINTING TOGETHER (RELIC 31/54) and PHOTO OF AMELIA HOLDING LARA (RELIC 32/54) to the left and right of a painting of city. Go the back right of the room (this will give you AMELIA'S PAINTINGS (DOCUMENT 23/40) automatically).

To the left of a painting of man is MOVING IN (DOCUMENT 24/40).

The back left of the room gives you another memory of Amelia and Lara.

To the right of the entrance is a ladder. Climb it and collect A NEW LOVE (DOCUMENT 25/40) to the right and GALLEY PAMPHLET (RELIC 33/54) to the left in a chest.

Exit the atelier.

Take two rights. This hallway has a cabinet to the left that contains CONSUMED BY GRIEF (DOCUMENT 26/40). Open the door at the end of the hallway which leads to the Master Bedroom.

On a table to the right is POCKET WATCH (RELIC 34/54). You will also get a memory of Amelia and Richard arguing. On a window sill to the right of the room sits BUST OF RICHARD CROFT (RELIC 35/54). In the back of the room on a table with a mirror and beauty products is AMELIA'S PERFUME BOTTLE (RELIC 36/54). To the left of relic 36 is PHOTO OF AMELIA ON HER WEDDING DAY (RELIC 37/54). AMELIA'S NECKLACE (RELIC 38/54) is to the left of relic 37, beside the bed.

At the foot of the bed, on a small chair is AN UNLIKELY UNION (DOCUMENT 27/40).

Secrets of the Past - Return to the study and open Lord Croft's Safe

AMELIA'S WEDDING RING (RELIC 39/54) is on the bed.

The tall cabinet cabinet to the left of the bed contains A NEW CROFT (DOCUMENT 28/40). The smaller one nearby contains STOPPING TIME (DOCUMENT 29/40).

Go back to the Study Room and approach the safe to get a memory of Richard and Lara discussing whats in the safe. Open the safe with the code

and collect CLAY IMPRINT OF LARA'S HAND (RELIC 40/54), BROKEN (DOCUMENT 30/40), LORD CROFT'S UNPUBLISHED MANUSCRIPT (RELIC 41/54), and BLANK LETTER (RELIC 42/54) (None of these items are pictured). This will also unlock:

The Hidden Truth - Find a way to decipher the Blank Letter

Go to the Grand Hall, light the fireplace near the compass, and reveal the hidden message (this will give you BLANK LETTER (REVEALED) (RELIC 43/54)automatically).

The Hidden Truth - Solve the mystery of the Blank Letter

The blank letter is pointing you to the wine cellar, so enter the Servants' Passage with the entrance closest to the Study Room. At the bottom of the first set of stairs is a door that you can open with the master key. It's a shortcut to the library, but we don't need to go through it. Continue down until you reach the wine cellar.

At the bottom go through the first cart and then take a right. At the fork, take the left and then push the wall with the diamond pattern (it will glow if you use Survival Instincts). That'll reveal a number pad. The solution to it is in the spoiler tab.

Once you enter the correct combination, a new path will open. Follow it until you reach Richard's Secret Vault.

Search Lord Croft's Secret Vault for Clues

To the immediate left is a cabinet containing KEEPING SECRETS (DOCUMENT 31/40). On the table in the middle lies THE RITUAL (DOCUMENT 32/40), JADE DRAGON STATUE (RELIC 44/54), TIBETAN SCROLL (RELIC 45/54), and CROWBAR (RELIC 46/54). To the right of the entrance is BLAME (DOCUMENT 33/40) and LORD CROFT'S CODEX (RELIC 47/54).

To the back left of the lab is MISSING RENOVATION PAGE (RELIC 48/54) and to its right on the shelf is FACING DEATH (DOCUMENT 34/40). To the back right of the lab is SUN SHAPED PLAQUE (RELIC 49/54).

The Hidden Truth - Find a way out of Lord Croft's Secret Vault

The wall behind relic 49 is breakable with your crowbar. Break it.

The Hidden Truth - Solve the Riddle of the Sun Shaped Plaque

Go through the hole and open the locker in front of you which contains A LETTER TO DAD (DOCUMENT 35/40). Turn to your left and hug the wall. ANCIENT ANUBIS BUST (RELIC 50/54) is hidden in a corner.

Climb up the ladder near the locker, enter the library, take a right from Sir Reginald, a right through a set of doors, left through a single door, down to the wine cellar, and to the area where the chessboard was. There is a locker here that contains RESPECTFUL DUTY (DOCUMENT 36/40).

Head back to the Grand Hall. Place the sun shaped plaque in the compass and break the wall to the north (it will be highlighted when you use Survival Instincts).

The Hidden Truth - Investigate the Croft Family Crypt

Enter the Croft Family Crypt and unlock:

Go down the stairs and collect THE RETURN (DOCUMENT 37/40) to the left before entering the main area. Go down the right stairs and collect THE GOLDEN ROSE (RELIC 51/54) to the right at the bottom of the stairs. Near Amelia's tomb is heartfelt letter from Amelia to Lara (A LETTER TO MY DAUGHTER (DOCUMENT 38/40)).

You will be teleported to the Grand Hall and CAPITULATION (DOCUMENT 39/40) (Not pictured) will lie on the ground in front of Lara. Lara will start a monologue about making the Croft name great again (this will give you RECONCILIATION (DOCUMENT 40/40) automatically). This will unlock:

Enter the study room and collect YAMATAI SWORD (RELIC 52/54) and THE ATLAS (RELIC 53/54) to the immediate left. On the desk is ROTH'S PISTOLS (RELIC 54/54). Collect this and unlock the final achievement:
