Former Member of the Band That Later Became Destiny's Child Auditions for 'The Voice'
Tamar Davis auditioned on The Voice, Tuesday, but before that she was in a band called Girl’s Tyme which later became known as Something Fresh, then Cliche, then Dolls, then Destiny, and finally Destiny’s Child.
Tamar left the band because her parents wanted her to focus more on school. Soon after the success of Destiny’s Child, particularly concerning Beyonce Knowles and Kelly Rowland, it was hard for Tamar to accept that she was not part of the group. Later on however, she said she thanked her parents for pushing her to study and graduate from college. Plus she still got to sing, in fact she sang for Prince’s house band.
Tamar also has the personal support of Tyler Perry, who came with her family to The Voice audition. And he must have been her good luck charm because she got Christina Aguilera as her coach.
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
