Forbes predicts award-winning artist Davido to earn over N9 Billion in 2023
David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, a multi-award-winning Nigerian musician, is predicted to earn more than $20 million (N9 billion) in 2023 alone, according to Forbes.
This will reportedly come from a combination of royalties, brand collaborations, merchandise sales, and lucrative tour performances.
Davido, who is featured in the Forbes’ Under 30 Africa list, is set to lead the American business magazine’s 30 Under 30 Africa Summit in Gaborone. He is regarded as a trendsetter for Afrobeats, with his music having been listened to more than 2 billion times.
Timeless, his freshly released fourth studio album, has already received critical acclaim and digital play. The album debuted at number two on Billboard’s World Album list after being streamed over 133 million times in the first ten days.
Davido has signed sponsorship deals with Pernod Ricard’s Martell Cognac, smartphone maker Infinix Mobile, and Puma as one of the most successful African artists of this age. His music is a contemporary blend of African and international influences.
Aside from his musical endeavours, Davido’s family is well-connected in politics and business. Adedeji Adeleke, his father, established Pacific Holdings Limited in 1983, which has developed into an industrial behemoth whose power facilities supply the majority of West Africa’s electricity.
