Flygon Weakness Pokemon GO - Raid Guide and Best Counters May 2021
Pokemon GO’s brand new Luminous Legends event has arrived.
With it is a huge range of exciting changes including lots of wild Fairy and Dragon-type Pokemon, new Raid Bosses, research and much, much more.
One of the new Raid Bosses that has appeared as part of this event is Flygon, who hasn’t been featured in quite a while.
With that in mind, let’s take a look if Flygon has a weakness in Pokemon GO and how we can best exploit it.
Flygon Weakness Pokemon GO
Flygon has a total of three weaknesses in Pokemon GO.
Both Dragon and Fairy-type moves do double damage to the Pokemon, but the one you really want to exploit is Ice, which does 4x damage.
Thankfully, this means you’ll have a good range of counters for Flygon, but what are they?

Best Counters For Flygon
As stated, Flygon has a few weaknesses, with Ice being the main one, so of course, this is what you’ll want to exploit.
In terms of Mega Pokemon, Mega Abomasnow is going to be your top choice.
Following that Galarian Darmanitan is your best pick. Darmanitan is very closely followed by Mamoswine. The trio of Weavile, Glaceon and Jynx are three very solid budget picks for Flygon raids.
You can really get away with using any strong/high-level Ice-type Pokemon, but the above five are the best.
- Mega Abomasonw – Powder Snow/Weather Ball
- Galarian Darmanitan – Ice Fang/Avalanche
- Mamoswine – Powder Snow/Avalanche
- Weavile – Ice Shard/Avalanche
- Glaceon – Frost Breath/Avalanche
- Jynx – Frost Breath/Avalanche
Effectively, you really want to aim for Ice-types here. Dragons will suffer against Flygon’s Dragon-type moves and Fairy-types don’t come close to Ice-type’s power.
Flygon can definitely be soloed with strong Ice-type Pokemon.
