Five of Swords -

Conflict is at the epicenter of the Five of Swords in the Suit of Swords. You may either have recently found yourself in the middle of a tumultuous disagreement or are quickly moving towards such hostilities with another person or even group of people. Though you feel that you came out victorious in previous battles, the end result is sadness and isolation. While you pick up the pieces of your chipped armor, nothing mitigates the fact that you are now without allies.

It is important to look at all sides of the chessboard to gain an understanding of others’ opinions instead of attacking them without any regard. If you want to save friendships and other relationships, this skill is pivotal.

The Five of Swords is also about domination. Your conquest—whatever that may be—will soon be over if you remain as adamant as you have been. For the more passive individual, the Five of Swords is a literal call to arms. You must be more aggressive in your approach if you actually want to get over the hurdles that await you. Of course, this win may either be completely hollow or a true prize, depending on your feelings when reaching the goal.

But on the flip side, the Five of Swords can also signal utter defeat. Despite your best efforts and all of your victories, you may simply fail to realize your ambition. Furthermore, those who fought so bravely beside you may turn tail and become traitors to your dream.
