The letter Hirakawa wrote read,
“A few days ago, I suddenly lost my hearing in one ear. When I visited a hospital, I was diagnosed with sudden deafness and was hospitalized to be treated properly. I am very sorry for the inconvenience and worry this has caused to so many people. I thought about coming to terms with the situation and continuing to work, but I have decided to take some time off now and opt for inpatient treatment so I can continue to face the work of an actor that I love and cherish without any worries. For now, I would like to focus on receiving proper treatment by following the instructions of the doctors and staff at the hospital.”
Hirakawa posted his letter on X (formerly Twitter) to inform his audiences about the abrupt break. This break is entirely for the actor to receive treatment for his hearing loss. When Hirakawa wrote this, he could only listen in one ear. After meeting with doctors, the actor was encouraged to admit himself to the hospital for treatment.
