Cody Rhodes, Triple H and others mourn the tragic demise of Jay Briscoe
This Tuesday evening brought tears to everyone’s eyes. Because, Jay Briscoe, aged 38, left this world. He was one-half of the reigning ROH World Tag-Team Champions alongside his brother Mark Briscoe. For the unversed, Jay was one of the most popular wrestlers on the independent circuit.
In the past two decades, The Briscoes became the ultimate reason for hardcore wrestling fans’ delight. Most recently, they captured those Tag-Team titles from FTR, at ROH Final Battle pay-per-view. That was one of the highest rated matches to ever came into existence. But, that all feels like a dream now, as Jay is no more.
Moments after AEW president Tony Khan tweeted about his passing, a plethora of heavy-hearted reactions started to pour in. As of now, Twitter is full of sad wishes for the deceased wrestler. The fact that superstars from WWE, AEW, Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor have come together to pay homage for Jay Briscoe is heartwarming.
This also tells how jovial of a human being he was. More often, he was spotted chilling out with his daughter. As many people wish during their life-span, no matter if others join you in your better time or not, if they cry for you after you no more exist, you’ve lived a life that many aspire for.

I didn’t interact much with him, but upon meeting Jay I instantly understood something about him…his family was his everything. All the love in the world to them this evening.

One time in New York City, I was at a bar with the Briscoes and Nigel. I might’ve had a few too many.
Nigel asked if I ever had a Flaming Sambuca. I told him to line it up.
Being an idiot, I didn’t blow it out before I shot it… (1/3)

Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this day. We'll do whatever we can to support his family.
