Chemical leak from package closes the Beech Grove post office
A chemical leak has forced Beech Grove's post office to shut down temporarily.
BEECH GROVE (WTHR) - A chemical leak has forced Beech Grove's post office to shut down temporarily.
Firefighters say they found mercury there last Thursday that came from a damaged package from Michigan.
The Marion County Health Department tells us they'll go back in to do testing -- once the post office is done with the clean-up.
A sign posted outside the building off Main Street says they'll re-open "as soon as possible" -- and directs people to other branches.
We're told there were no injuries -- and at this point -- no one has gotten sick from the spill.
