Celebrity Signature Poses, Take Two
THE HAND CLASP
Here's the thing about the hand clasp: it can either look very prim and proper, which I presume is what Nicole Kidman is going for, but if held too long--or too tightly--it can look a little bit like you're holding your belly because you have to find a ladies room pronto. (Which is probably not the best red carpet look.) Some advice for next week's Golden Globe attendees: Make sure to carry a clutch so your hands are occupied.
THE BOYFRIEND AS ACCESSORY
Mariah Carey is so excited about her new husband Nick Cannon that she can, in the vast majority of pictures of the couple since their marriage, often be found draping herself over him as if he were some kind of human podium. When the initial glow of married life subsides, this pose probably may evolve into the more formal, arm-clasping pose that Brad and Angie often strike on the red carpet.
Any other poses I have left out in my second edition? Which ones of these signature celebrity moves do you love or hate? Do you have a go-to move when posing for friends' pictures? All you peace-signers and arms-over-face-don't-take-my-photo culprits, 'fess up!
