Breaking: Bola Tinubu reportedly picks Ibrahim Masari as running mate
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has reportedly picked Alhaji Kabir Ibrahim Masari as his running mate for the 2023 presidential election.
According to Daily Trust, sources in the APC said Tinubu submitted Masari’s name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday, June 16.

However, the APC presidential candidate is yet to confirm the report.
Who is Alhaji Kabir Ibrahim Masar
Masari is a politician from Katsina state who served as national welfare secretary of the APC during the time Adams Oshiomhole served as the national chairman of the party.
He is reported to be a kinsman of the current Katsina governor Aminu Bello Masari.
He was a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the regime of late President Umaru Musa YarÁdua.

Masari however, defected to the Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) in 2010. He joined the APC after the CPC collapsed its structure into APC ahead of the 2015 general elections.
In another news, the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has announced the Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate for the 2023 election.
The former vice president made the announcement on Thursday, June 16, at a meeting with party executives held at the PDP headquarters in Abuja.
The national chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, said Atiku made his choice from three names presented to him by a 17-member committee set up by the party.
