Blayne Marple, Gone Too Soon: A Community Mourns
Pleasant Lake, IN - The small town of Pleasant Lake is grieving the loss of one of their own this week. Blayne Lee Marple, a beloved son, brother, friend and community member, died tragically in a single-vehicle car accident in the early hours of Wednesday morning. He was just 22 years old.
According to local authorities, Blayne was driving his 2009 Mazda RX8 along Fox Lake Road near the public access site at speeds too high to safely negotiate a curve. He lost control, overcorrected, and slid into a utility pole. The vehicle burst into flames upon impact. First responders arrived to find the car engulfed and Blayne's body inside.
The heartbreaking news spread quickly through the close-knit lakeside community, where Blayne was known for his bright spirit, warm smile and caring heart. Friends and family took to social media to mourn and share memories of happier times.
"I just can't believe he's gone," wrote one friend. "Blayne was always the life of the party and could make anyone laugh. My heart is broken."

Blayne's sister invited the community to a celebration of life this Sunday, August 6 at their grandparents' home on Pleasant Lake. A light lunch will be served starting at noon, followed by a 1:30pm memorial service. She encouraged people to come share stories and remember her brother's vibrance.
Born on March 11, 2001, Blayne was raised in Pleasant Lake and graduated from Hamilton High School in 2019. An avid boater and watersports enthusiast, he loved summer days out on the lake with friends. He was also an adrenaline junkie who enjoyed fast cars, cliff diving, sky diving - anything to get his pulse racing.
Blayne worked for a local landscaping company and was saving up to someday open his own business. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and knack for putting his own spin on things. His family remembers how he started a Treats on Wheels ice cream bike business as a teen, pedaling around the lake to sell popsicles on hot summer days.

Above all, Blayne cherished time spent with family, especially his grandparents who he saw nearly every day. He had a special bond with his grandpa and could often be found lending a hand with yardwork and odd jobs. His grandmother's homemade meals were his favorite.
Friends describe Blayne as the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back. He loved helping others and was always looking for people who needed a hand. He volunteered at the local animal shelter and youth center.
While the town grieves his loss, they also want to honor Blayne's giving spirit by paying it forward through acts of kindness. Community members have proposed establishing a memorial scholarship in his name for Hamilton High students pursuing trades programs. Others are sharing stories of Blayne's good deeds on social media to inspire people to follow his example.
The pain of losing Blayne so suddenly is immense. But his family, friends and the whole Pleasant Lake community can find comfort in remembering the joy he brought to so many lives in just 22 short years. While he may be gone, Blayne's bright spirit will continue to live on through all those he touched.
