Big Brother Naija Season 7: Tips, dates, requirements for audition
Africa’s biggest reality TV show, Big Brother Naija, will be back soon with its Season 7.
The show, which debuted in 2006, has served as a platform where stars emerge.
Since its first season, several housemates have since established themselves as industry greats, while some others fade into private endeavours.
Every season of the show is preceded by auditions from which housemates are selected. Still, some speculate that some housemates have other means of getting into the house as auditions do not necessarily guarantee entry into “Biggie’s house.”
While that is a topic this article would be willing to engage you on, the focus of this piece is to help you with tips for the auditions of the seventh season.

To successfully make a submission for this season, follow the steps below;
- Log on to
- Fill in your profile with appropriate details. Be sure to check for errors before submitting. Also, ensure that contact numbers are active and your contact address is up-to-date.
- Make a 3minute video of yourself telling Big Brother about yourself.
- Get your video saved on your mobile device or your computer.
- Proceed to submit your video for assessment.

WHAT TO SAY IN BBNAIJA AUDITION VIDEO
Stay natural in your presentation, and be sure it is a maximum of 33mins.
Tell Big Brother about yourself by answering the following questions:
- Who you are
- What you think about yourself
- Your favourite things
- Your likes & dislikes
- Your close friends & family
- Neighbourhood you grew up in and how that shaped you
OTHER TIPS YOU NEED TO KNOW
Video Tips:
- Keep things natural. Tell a good story of yourself, citing real-life experiences and how those experiences will help you emerge winner. Big Brother wants to meet you before meeting you. If you get it, you get it. If you don’t get it, forget about it.
- Do not overdo! It is a short introductory video, not a movie shoot. There’ll be no need for elaborate costuming, lighting, and all. Project your real self, na your ‘real face’ them wan see.
- Take advantage of your neighbourhood, especially if you’re from a unique part of the country. Explain how being in such an environment has shaped your personality and how it’ll help you succeed on the show. Trenches na trenches, own it!
- Be sure your camera is steady while recording. No one wants to see shaky shots. There are selfie sticks these days. Placing it on a steady object could help achieve that too.
- Ensure your face and environment are well lit, especially if you’re shooting indoors. It is also advisable you shoot during the day, so you don’t struggle with lights. You’re not auditioning for the role of an assassin in Nollywood abeg.
- Be audible enough and speak clearly. Fine face, no audio – na disqualification.
- It doesn’t matter if you’re in the trenches. Record when the environment is relatively quiet. You want us to pay attention to your words and not the noise in the background.
- Shoot landscape (horizontal) and not portrait (vertical) style.
- Shoot like you would see your video on TV. It could make it there.

REQUIREMENTS
Persons applying must meet the following criteria:
- Must be at least 21 by June 1, 2022.
- Must be a Nigerian citizen or permanent resident of Nigeria as of June 1, 2022, and in possession of a valid identity document.
- Must be in excellent physical and mental health.
- Must be available for possible video interview (if selected by the Producers for the next phase of the auditions)
- Must be willing to travel to Lagos as scheduled by the Producers. Lesson here, Stay Ready!
- Must be willing to live with about 12 or more strangers in the Big Brother Naija house located in Lagos. Privacy is almost not guaranteed. If you don’t know this already, you should probably see out this season by watching from home.

Start date: Sunday, May 15, 2022
Deadline: Monday, May 30, 2022
