Beyonce and Jay-Z's Baby Name Isn't So Unusual! 10 Other Celebrities Who Also Have Children Named Blue
Now that you've had time to absorb the news that Beyonce & Jay-Z's special little creation is now among us, let's talk a little more about her name: Blue Ivy Carter. Many early reports had the name flopped--Ivy Blue Carter--but B and J's pal Gwyneth Paltrow set the record straight on Twitter confirming that it is in fact Blue Ivy.
As I mentioned yesterday, as unusual as the name Blue may seem to some, it's not uncommon as far as celebrity baby names go. Here's a list of stars who have given their offspring the color name, in some form or another.
Cher: Ever the trendsetter, Cher named her son (with rocker Gregg Allman) Elijah Blue Allman. Now this was all the way back in 1976--Elijah Blue is now a musician and artist himself--so the name Blue has actually been bouncing around Hollywood for over 30 years.
The Edge: The U2 rocker (real name: David Howell Evans) was also an early adopter of using the color as a name. His daughter, Blue Angel Evans, was born in 1989. And like Beyonce and Jay-Z's daughter--and unlike all the other celebrity kids on this list--Blue is her first name, not a middle name.
