Being Captain | Golf Monthly
From conversations I've had with the outgoing Mens' Captain and Vice-Captain, Ladies' Captain and Vice-Captain and the General Manager, it's going to mean:
I don't pay membership fee when Captain
I represent the club at a couple of comps
I shouldn't be out of pocket financially (but I shouldn't make a profit either, although really can't see how I could!)
I sit on the Committee
I'm expected to be a good ambassador for the club (which means, I'm going to have to curb the violent swearing outbursts!)
I don't have to play in every competition
I get an allocated parking space
I support a charity and ensure at least one competition is hosted for it
I play for the Mens' Team and the Mixed Team in as many friendly matches as possible
The club isn't run by the Committee in the true sense, so I'm not going to be doing what the Captain of a private members club has to do by any means.
Still very humbled to have been asked!
