Tottenham scored four goals in a dominant second-half display to beat Villa 4-0 at Villa Park and put qualification for next season's Champions League in their hands. Spurs only created an xG of 0.03 before the break but were a completely different side after the restart. Maddison poked in Sarr's cross to put the visitors ahead, with Johnson crashing his strike into the roof of the net just 207 seconds later to put Postecoglou's men in control. Things went from bad to worse for Villa when McGinn got sent off for a horrendous tackle on Udogie and took 84 minutes to have their first attempt on target. Spurs were ruthless and scored twice in stoppage time. Son hammered his effort from inside of the box past Martinez before assisting Werner moments later for his second goal in two outings. Spurs are just two points behind fourth-placed Villa and have played one less match. They travel to Fulham next week looking for their third straight win. As for Villa, they have conceded two or more goals in three successive games and host Ajax in the second leg of their Europa Conference League last-16 tie. That's all for today, goodbye.
