Alejandra Fernández, commonly known as “Aleja”, was born on March 11, 1984. She was born by Gloria Abarca Villasenor, who is Vicente’s sister-in-law, but was adopted by the late Vicente Fernandez, the Mexican music icon, when she was 40 days old. 

Fernández grew up in Mexico. She was raised with her three older brothers, and as the only girl, she had a deep connection with her father.

She obtained earned a degree in fashion design in college. She is of Hispanic (Latino) ancestry and is a Mexican citizen.

In regards to her Zodiac sign, Fernández is a Pisces.

She has over 20 years of expertise as a registered intellectual property lawyer. She mixes collaborative and energising expressiveness with innovative and smart thinking. The Florida Bar Association has acknowledged her as one of the top 100 attorneys in the state and among the top 50 attorneys in Hillsborough County for her body of work.

Aside from her successful legal career, Fernández also founded a company, called Alleza, in 2011. Although the company was later shuttered in 2020, her entrepreneurial spirit did not falter. She now owns and operates the Unicenter Shopping Center, where she has provided employment opportunities to hundreds of workers.

Fernández’s original mother, Gloria Villasenor, requested her daughter’s return when she was between the ages of four and five years old. Vicente and his wife complied with the request and sent the girl to her mother. She was, however, returned to her adopted home after it was noticed that Vicente’s health deteriorated due to her absence.  

She grew up in the lovely home of Vicente Fernández and his wife, Maria del Refugio Abarca Villaseñor, who she referred to as her parents. Fernandez was raised alongside her three siblings: Vicente, Gerardo, and Alejandro Fernández.  Her brothers are all well-known and prominent figures in the entertainment circle.

Her adoptive father, Vicente Fernández Gómez (also known as “Chente” or “El Rey de la Música Ranchera”), was born on February 17, 1940, in Huentitán el Alto, Jalisco, Mexico. He remains one of the most successful and influential Mexican singers and songwriters of all time, with a career spanning over six decades.

Fernández’s music is mainly in the ranchera genre, which is a traditional style of Mexican music that typically features a mariachi band. He released over 50 albums and sold more than 50 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling Latin music artists of all time.

In addition to his music career, Fernández also appeared in numerous Mexican films, often playing roles that reflect his own life and experiences. He has won several awards for his music and acting, including multiple Grammy Awards and Latin Grammy Awards, as well as honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In 2021, the legendary Vicente Fernández was hospitalised after he was said to be struggling with his health. He was rushed to the hospital on August 6, 2021, after passing out at his ranch outside of Guadalajara, Mexico. On December 12, 2021, at the age of 81, he passed away.

Vicente Fernandez Jr. is the first son of Vicente Fernandez and also a famous and respected singer from Mexico. The covers of “Desde Que Tú Te Fuiste”, “Sin Papeles”, and “Secreto de Amor” are some of his popular hits.

Fernandez’s second brother is Gerardo Fernandez. In the series El Rey, which debuted on Netflix on September 15, 2022, it is claimed that the birth of Gerardo was complex and occurred during a challenging moment in the life of his father.

The third son, Alejandro Fernandez Abarca, is a well-known Mexican singer who has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. His fans and the media have given him the moniker “El Potrillo“.

Alejandra Fernández got married to renowned pianist, Jose Luis Altermirano on May 24, 2014. The couple first met in 2012 and dated for two years before tying the knot.

Their marriage was highly publicised, with several celebrities attending the event. They seemed to be very much in love and shared a strong bond. However, after just one year of marriage, they decided to part ways and got a divorce in 2015. The reason for their separation was not revealed to the public.
