Afternoon Snack: It Tastes Just Like a Chocolate-Covered Graham Cracker
If you live in or have ever visited New York City, you know there are these little candy/ice cream/all-around-sweet shops parked on just about every other corner. When I lived there, I'd walk home from work and it became a habit to hit one up now and then for chocolate-covered graham crackers. I eventually gave up the graham cracker ghost (not the smartest of snacks), but I just found an awesome replacement...
I discovered a box of these Nature Valley Granola Thins stashed in my dad's pantry this weekend and was more than happy to try one out. It's a crispy square of granola (made with whole-grain oats) that has a thin layer of dark chocolate on one side. Verdict: tasty.
And not a healthy-eating disaster, either: one serving is 80 calories, with 4g fat and 1g protein. Like some other granola-based snacks out there, it has some sugar, but it packs about half the calories and fat of a chocolate-covered graham cracker.
Do you have a favorite granola-y or graham cracker-y snack? What are you eating this afternoon?
