13-year-old Nigerian boy wins scholarship to study Civil Engineering at US university

Musa Sani, a bright 13-year-old Nigerian, has earned a scholarship to pursue his university education at any university in the United States after constructing a duplicate of a flyover bridge in Borno, North-East Nigeria out of clay.

Musa Sani’s stunning clay building went viral on social media in 2021, drawing the attention of many Nigerians and observers worldwide to his raw talent.

Musa’s tale was initially relayed by Omasoro Ovie, a Nigerian man who stated that the 13-year-old has been awarded a scholarship to study in the United States.

He further revealed that the sponsors of Musa’s award promised to hire his father and pay his mother a sum and sponsor all of his siblings’ education.

“Ronchess Global Resources will employ Musa Sani’s father also and give the mother N1m to start a business while getting the family a new apartment. The boy’s siblings will all be put through school by the firm, and Musa will be given a university scholarship to the USA,” Ovie wrote on Twitter

Musa was also given a 5 million Naira scholarship by the government of his home state, Borno State, Nigeria, to help fund his secondary school education before travelling to the United States for university.

Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, the state governor, stated that funding for his whole secondary education had been paid to a private university in the state. The State’s Education Trust Fund (ETF) Chairman presented the boy with a previously paid cheque for Five Million and Twenty-Nine Thousand Naira (N5,029,000).
