'Kermit Green' Is the 2018 Runway Color Trend That Can't Be Ignored

After watching the fashion crowd mimic the style vibe of The Matrix, bring back tube tops and somehow make you reconsider Crocs, you become kind of numb to even the most jarring of runway ideas. Yet every so often, a certain look can make you stop and think: Is anyone noticing this burgeoning trend? They're the looks that have you calling for backup—in my case, chatting coworkers to affirm or brush off my observations). After the fall 2018 shows, there's definitely one trend that's quite hard to miss, seeing that it was both widespread and bold; it's also reminiscent of one of our favorite Muppets.

It seems designers are in agreement about a color story for fall: all neon everything. And the most prevalent of all shades within that super-bright family appears to be green—not the darker, woodsier greens we're used to seeing in autumn collections, but a bright, Kermit the Frog-esque green that kept coming up on runway after runway: Tom Ford, Mulberry, Prada, Marni, Sonia Rykiel, Valentino, etc. It has been worn up and down street style this month, and it's manifesting in retail, too, with plenty of colorful on-trend pieces that fit into your wardrobe right now. Who knew Kermit had such style clout?

Add this to the list of surprising trends to come out of Fashion Week—but not before peeping at some of our favorite shoppable picks (under $150!), below.
