It follows the story of Urano Motosu, a girl who died after a pile of books fell on her during an Earthquake. Urano was one of those rare people who loved reading books, so before dying, she wished to be reborn in a world where she could read as many books as she wanted.
Well, the supreme entity listens to Urano’s wishes, and she reincarnates in a world where books are scarce, and only elite people have the privilege to read them. In this new world, Urano decides to write her own books so she can read them whenever she wants.

Ascendance of a Bookworm is one of those rare manga series that features a grounded yet beautiful story. So, Ajia-Do Animation Works decided to bring Urano’s story to the screen with an anime adaptation. The first season of the anime came out in October 2019, followed by the second season in April 2020.
